Vanadium Redox Battery (VRB)
A vanadium redox battery is a rechargeable electric energy storage system. It uses solely vanadium ions, maximum power and maximum capacity can be designed independantly.
Function principle
The vanadium redox battery consists of these basic elements:
- a system of two liquid electrolytes
- storage tanks for the electrolytes
- reaction chamber for charging / discharging the storage system
- electrodes
- the control system including pumps, valves, etc.
