Vanadium Redox Battery (VRB)

A vanadium redox battery is a rechargeable electric energy storage system. It uses solely vanadium ions, maximum power and maximum capacity can be designed independantly.

Function principle

The vanadium redox battery consists of these basic elements:

• a system of two liquid electrolytes
• storage tanks for the electrolytes
• reaction chamber for charging / discharging the storage system
• electrodes
• the control system including pumps, valves, etc.
